Through the ACPA Visiting Scholar Program supported by
Stryker Craniomaxillofacial, one individual per year is identified
as having the capacity to improve the delivery of team care to his/her
local underserved region. This scholar spends 4-6 weeks in North
America, visits cleft and craniofacial centers and attends the
ACPA Annual Meeting. The scholar returns home and uses this
experience to improve or establish the delivery of team care in
his or her country. ACPA members are not eligible. Application

CLEFT PALATE FOUNDATION RESEARCH GRANTS CPF
currently offers 5
grants totaling $40,000. Two Junior Investigator Research Grants
($5000) are supported by the Cleft Palate Foundation; the Etiology
Grant ($10,000) is supported by the Peer Foundation; the Cleft Lip/Palate
and Craniofacial Anomalies Research Grant ($10,000) is supported
by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons,
and the Children's Craniofacial Association Research Grant
($10,000) is supported by the Children's Craniofacial Association

DONNA PRUZANSKY
MEMORIAL FUND: NURSE SCHOLARSHIPS
The grant, awarded from the
Donna Pruzansky Memorial Fund for Maternal and Child Health
Nursing and sponsored by CPF, pays for ACPA's Annual Meeting
registration fees, $500 for expenses and one free year of ACPA
membership. Nurses who devote at least 50% of their work time to
the care of patients with cleft lip/palate and other craniofacial
anomalies are encouraged to apply. Members of ACPA are not
eligible. Applications are available online at:

JAMES F. MULICK ORTHODONTIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND This educational fund
provides $500 towards travel expenses to ACPA's annual meeting and
$75 for ACPA student membership. Applicants must be current
residents in an orthodontic program associated with a cleft
palate/craniofacial team. Members of ACPA are not eligible.

Selection for the award will
be based on past academic success, evidence of leadership skills
or school/community involvement and strong indications of future

PARENT-PATIENT LEADERSHIP AWARD
Nominees should be individuals who
have provided exemplary leadership on behalf of parents and
patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. The recipient
will be honored at the 2009 Annual Luncheon in Scottsdale, AZ, and
